My Favorite Spring Hair Trends- Runway Edition

by Jenni on February 13, 2014

spingcoinMy favorite time of year is upon us! Fashion Week   !!!! Spring time has blossomed and propelled beauty and fashion into light and airy abundance of floral notes and soft tresses. Here are a few of my favorite hair trends that have been sashaying down the runway. springponytailLow Pony Tail- Carefree and easy elegance is the best way to describe this trend! Seen on the runways of Lanvin and Derek Lam, this casual favorite can easily be worn day or night! Wear it straight or add a few curls to it!  Either way is a fun flirty way to step into spring! Favorite way to achieve this look- Try a fun hair tie! This is a great way to add in your own style! Long Straight Hair-  Touchable and silky strands are all the rage this season. This trend was seen on the runways of Burberry and Chloe. I saw a majority with a center part on the  runways. It looked chic and sexy. If you don’t have long hair…try some clip in extensions! It is a fast and easy way to change up your look! Email me if you need some! I will be posting up more details later! Favorite product to achieve this look- Smoothing Serum from Aveda. Protects hair from heat damage and keeps hair shiny and smooth! springwavesMermaid Waves- I really love this look! You can achieve it with a wand or with a double barrel curling iron. This look is very feminine and a fun alternative to curling your hair! The look this season is very minimal product so your hair remains soft and bouncy. It looks great whatever length your hair is so even ladies out there with pixie cuts and bobs this style is for you! Favorite tool to achieve this style-Hot Tools 2 Barrel Gold Curling Iron Hair Accessories- This season adoring your hair with accessories to show off your style! Romantic flowers and roman inspired (like seen on the Dolce Gabanna runway) motifs are all the rage! I like this look especially when worn in a messy up do! Favorite Places for Accessories- Charming Charlie’s —they have great and inexpensive accessories and so many to choose from! I am so excited about this Season’ trend! I cant wait to wear them all! Let me know what trends you are most excited about and send me pics of you rocking Springs hottest looks!

I was recently told about a new all natural product that removes makeup, keeps your skin hydrated and keeps you from being oily! I was super excited because I am always looking for a one stop shop for my skin! I tried it and LOVED it! It even removed my water proof eyeliner and eyelash glue! Then I noticed the next morning that my skin looked fresh and I didn’t have any blemishes AND my face wasn’t oily! I was in LOVE!!!! So I started doing a little research on line and found that my same new favorite beauty product also was great for my hair! So I immediately put it on my ends of my hair and worked it into the rest of my strands! Low and behold my curls were revived and my flyways gone AND my hair smelled amazing! I was thrilled! That night I washed my hair and after I dried it I noticed that my hair had retained its shine and softness! It felt hydrated and full of life! SO ok I know…you want to know what this product could possibly be…and how expensive is it…Well….Its coconut butter!!! You can buy it at HEB for under 10.00!!! The BEST part about my little coconut revelation is that you can substitute it for oil for in your cooking and save calories! That’s right ladies it is great for your waist too! I am now converted into a coconut fanatic! Who would have known that all this time there was something that did all these amazing thing?! I really hope you try this out! Let me know how much you love using coconut butter and if I have turned you into a believer!

New Year Skin Resolutions

by Jenni on January 14, 2014

With the New Year started it is a good time to begin healthy skin habits! We only have one face so we have to be sure to treat it right! Here are a few quick and easy tips to jump start this year as your best skin yet!

Be sure to drink lots and lots of water!—-we all know this but sometimes we would rather have a soda than water…But remember that water flushes out toxins, makes our skin glow, and is zero calories!

Use a Moisturizer!—- Using a moisturizer daily works wonders for our skin! It hydrates your cells and makes your skin look plump and not dry! Keep in mind that dry skin looks older…and no one wants that!!!!! Bonus*** our foundation looks smoother when you use a moisturizer!

Sun Protection is a Must—- We have to protect our skin with SPF…sun spots or age spots show up later in life from over exposure to sunlight. These spots can make you look older and it is better to prevent than to correct! It is important to use sun block every day! We are receiving sunlight even through the clouds and through the windows in our cars!

Apply an  Eye Cream—The skin under our eyes is the thinnest on our bodies (which means it is the most delicate) Using an eye cream keeps that skin elastic and moisturized. In many woman this is where their first signs of aging begin… It is never too early to begin using an eye cream!

I hope you are able to incorporate some of these changes to your beauty regimen! Enjoy your skin and take care of it! Let me know if you how these changes have helped you and what are some of your favorite ways to keep your skin beautiful!

My Favorite Products for Flawless Skin

by Jenni on November 3, 2013

I achieved this look by using a few key products to give that perfect complexion without sacrificing great coverage! You want to make sure that you are using a great moisturizer. This is important because it ensures that your skin is hydrated with makes the biggest difference in the over all appearance of your skin. Even if you are oily you still MUST moisturize. I like using a moisturizer with built in radiance. This gives your skin a glow from underneath your makeup. It makes it look like healthy dewy skin.  Next, I chose I medium coverage liquid foundation. I applied it with a stippling brush. This is another vital step. You want to use this brush because it will allow you to buff in your foundation which gives more of an airbrush effect. If you need t use a concealer you can apply it at this point. Lastly, lightly pat a translucent powder on with a large fluffy brush. Notice I said pat..not swipe. Patting will make sure the makeup is set and swiping may cause the makeup to shift or leave streaks. I also like to finish with a setting spray to give the makeup a more skin like appearance. Hope this helps! Happy Skin Ladies!  Tag me in your pics on Instagram @allthingsjenni

A Sexy Look for Halloween

by Jenni on October 31, 2013

Convey your mystery and channel your inter dominatrix with a smoldering smoky eye and bright red lip! I used Lady Danger from Mac for the lip. It is an orangey-red that turns heads! For the eyes I used shimmery black on the lid (black tied) and a matte grey in the crease (print) I also added a pop of a champagne (Ricepaper) to the tear duct to keep the eyes bright. On the outer eye I used  Blacktrack on top of a piece of lace as a stencil to create a more edgy take on a traditional smoky eye! Have a spooky and sexy Halloween!
